MOSCOW, September 19 (RAPSI) – The lower house of Russian parliament passed a bill on tax benefits for people, who had suffered from terrorist attacks, natural disasters and other emergency situations, according to information published on the State Duma website.

The bill has been introduced by the government.

Thus, under the bill, terrorism and emergency victims would not pay personal income taxes for proceeds received in material and natural forms and financial benefit including debt release. Moreover, their family members would be exempt from paying taxes for welfare assistance.

The incomes would be exempt from taxation despite their sources.

The document is retroactive and will touch victims of natural disasters occurred since the start of 2019.

Amendments are proposed to the Tax Code of the Russian Federation.
