MOSCOW, July 30 - RAPSI. President Vladimir Putin has signed a bill into law establishing a list of domains and websites featuring unlawful content. Rosiiskaya Gazeta newspaper published the full text of the law on Monday and the law itself became effective from the date of its official publication.

The bill was submitted to the State Duma in early June and adopted in the first reading on July 6. The list will include websites with information harmful for children, especially child pornography, or promoting suicide or drugs.

The Internet community reacted negatively to the bill, fearing government censorship. Wikipedia staged a protest as a result, shutting down its Russian segment for a day.
