Alleged Norwegian spy to remain in detention until May
MOSCOW, March 13 (RAPSI) – The Moscow City Court on Tuesday upheld detention of Norwegian citizen Frode Berg charged with espionage, the court’s press service told RAPSI.
The defendant will stay in jail until May 5.
According to media reports, the defendant was arrested when he received secret documents containing information on Russian navy. Allegedly these papers were given by Russian national Alexey Zhitnyuk, who was detained in December on suspicion of treason.
Berg has pleaded not guilty.
