MOSCOW, June 30 (RAPSI) – The accounts of Russian diplomatic offices in Belgium, which were seized in accordance with the Hague court’s decision at the request of former Yukos shareholders, have been released, RIA Novosti reported on Tuesday, citing Russian Ambassador to NATO Alexander Grushko.

“The accounts of Russian diplomatic offices have been released, and this is how it should be,” Grushko said.

In mid-June, Belgian and French bailiffs announced the seizure of Russian assets at the request of former Yukos shareholders, who won a lawsuit filed at The Hague Permanent Court of Arbitration.

The Hague court announced in July last year that it had ruled for awards in three cases worth about $50 billion filed against Russia. Russian authorities moved to set aside the ruling and turned to the District Court in The Hague.

Later Belgian authorities decided to release part of the seized Russian accounts.
