Russian Supreme Court upholds defense official's jailing in Arctic survey embezzlement case

Russia’s Supreme Court on Monday rejected an appeal filed by the Defense Ministry’s navigation and oceanography department chief Sergey Travin against a 7-year prison sentence for embezzling 70 million rubles ($1 million) allocated for surveying shelf limits in the Arctic Ocean.
