MOSCOW, June 29 (RAPSI) — Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin has proposed to calculate the damage caused to the the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) in cooperation with the region’s parliament.

It would be feasible to establish a joint working group and calculate the damage caused to the LPR by the Kiev regime and NATO member states that supply it with weapons, ammunition and mercenaries, Volodin said at a meeting with the chairman of the People’s Council of the self-proclaimed republic, Denis Miroshnichenko.

Volodin noted that this issue must be carefully studied and an agreed decision reached in order to subsequently bring the perpetrators to justice.

In addition, during the meeting, issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation and approximation of laws of the two countries were discussed.

There is a lot of work to be done to modernize the legislation of the LPR. It is extremely important that laws relating to education, healthcare, and social protection be prepared as soon as possible, Volodin said.

The head of the People's Council of the LPR, Miroshnichenko, in turn, drew attention to the fact that the regional laws had already been applied according to the standard of Russian legislation, adding that the groundwork had already been laid.

The meeting between Volodin and the delegation of the People's Council of the LPR, headed by Miroshnichenko, took place in the State Duma on Tuesday. It was also attended by chairpersons of relevant committees of the lower house of the Russian parliament.
