MOSCOW, February 3 (RAPSI) – Thirty four minors were arrested during an unauthorized rally held in Moscow on February 2, member of Russia’s Civic Chamber Commission on Development of Information Community, Mass Media, and Mass Communications, Director of the Internet Safety League Yekaterina Mizulina informs citing the Interior Ministry.

Massive campaigns seeking to involve children in unauthorized actions, sometimes with the use of extremist calls, have been registered since 2018, when the issue was first raised by her organization, Mizulina said addressing participants of the public hearings on the prevention of involvement of minors in unlawful activities via social networks, hosted by the Civic Chamber.

According to Mizulina, every second Russian teenager is being affected by destructive social media content. A recent survey of about 100,000 children carried out by the Internet Safety League demonstrated that 82% of the respondents believed the use of internet was not safe enough, Mizulina stressed.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Education has backed an initiative to hold cyber security lessons for children.
