MOSCOW, August 24 (RAPSI) – A criminal case against an entrepreneur charged with unlawful transportation and sale of body parts of Siberian tigers and Himalayan and brown bears has been transferred to a court, the press-service of the Investigative Committee has stated.

The woman is charged with participation in a criminal organization and storing and transporting especially valuable wild animals of species listed in the Red Data Book of the Russian Federation.

According to investigators, from January 2017 till January 2018, several citizens of China were selling weapons and animal body parts in the Primorsky Krai of Russia. The defendant was involved in the criminal activity, allegedly she was buying supplies, organized transportation, provided housing and transport.

Officers of the regional Customs Service and Border directorate of the Federal Security Service (FSB) ended the criminal activity. Overall value of confiscated goods reached 50 million rubles ($713,000).

The defendant admitted guilt in full and was placed under house arrest.
