MOSCOW, May 28 (RAPSI) – Supreme Courts of Russia and China have signed a memorandum on cooperation during the meeting between Supreme Courts chairmen of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) member states, the press-service of Russia’s court has told RAPSI.

According to the Russian Supreme Court, there are several reasons for advanced cooperation such as, among others, increased efficiency of court reform, transparency of judicial practice and scientific research in the field of bilateral judicial assistance.

The document provides an option of court rulings exchange as well as cooperation in case study. The sides behind memorandum also plan to work together towards enforcement of rulings issued by Russian and Chinese courts.

Implementation of the memorandum’s provisions would promote development of friendly relationship between Russia and China enhancing national court systems, the Supreme Court noted.

The main topic of the discussion in Beijing was cooperation between court bodies in the fight against threats of terrorism, drug trade and money laundering.
