MOSCOW, April 24 (RAPSI) - Russia’s Human Rights Commissioner Tatiana Moskalkova has stated that the life quality of disabled persons must not decline because of probable prohibition of medicinal products import from the United States, the statement published on the ombudsman’s Instagram page reads.

According to Moskalkova, the U.S. medicine ban may lead to a rapid deterioration in the living of disabled people suffering from chronic illnesses; that won't pass.

Earlier, a bill on counter-sanctions in response of unfriendly acts of the U.S. and other foreign countries meaning sanctions against Russia and its nationals was submitted to the State Duma. The bill in particular envisages ban or restriction of import of medicine produced in the U.S. or other foreign states.

Under the draft law, bans and restrictions would not be applied to medicinal products without equals in Russia.

The State Duma is expected to consider the bill on May 15.
