MOSCOW, August 21 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said during a meeting with representatives of Kazakhstan on Monday that number of crimes committed in the state of drug intoxication rose by 50% in the last five years.

According to Kolokoltsev, 10% of crimes committed in Russia are related to unlawful distribution of drugs. He believes that international cooperation in fight against drugs should be developed further.

The Interior Minister positively evaluated collaborative work of Russian and Kazakhstan law enforcement in this sphere. He recounted a shared operation between two countries this year seizing 330 kilograms of drugs.
