MOSCOW, July 4 (RAPSI) - Egypt's deposed president Mohamed Morsi and his top officials have been forbidden from leaving the country, AFP reports on Thursday, citing the local security forces.

One of the sources said the restrictions were prompted by Morsi's suspected involvement in the breakout of imprisoned Islamists in 2011.

The management of Cairo airport have confirmed that they received an order banning Morsi, Mohammed Badie, the Supreme Guide of Muslim Brotherhood and his deputy, Khairat el-Shater, from travelling abroad.

In January 2011, 34 members of Muslim Brotherhood, an organization then banned in Egypt, escaped from the Wadi Natrun prison after their relatives overpowered the guards. Several top members were among the escaped prisoners.

On Wednesday, ultimatum the army issued to resolve the political stand-off expired. The military warned on Monday that if the government and the opposition failed to resolve the conflict and meet the people's demands, the army would unveil its own roadmap for Egypt's political future, and would take control of the country.
The president and his Islamist supporters rejected the ultimatum.
