MOSCOW, January 17 - RAPSI. Bulgaria's customs service submitted to Lukoil Neftochim Burgas protocols confirming that its storehouse complies with the law on excise taxes and tax warehouses, the service reported.

Lukoil Neftochim Burgas installed in mid-December metering devices due to the absence of which the Bulgarian authorities suspended the enterprise's work in summer.

The customs service suspended the license to store the refinery's fuel at Burgas in July. The enterprise could neither produce nor sell fuel as a result.

The license was suspended as LUKoil failed to install metering devices to count fuel, which are necessary to define the tax excise amount.

Later, a court permitted the refinery to operate, but the customs office contested the decision, arguing that it failed to install a remote control system for oil flow to prevent tax evasion.

In early August, the Bulgarian Supreme Administrative Court confirmed a lower-court decision that annulled the prohibition of the refinery's work, stating that the producer would have incurred severe damages as a result.

The next hearing is scheduled for January 24.

LUKoil is Russia's largest oil-producing company.
