MOSCOW, September 18 (RAPSI) – The Supreme Court has submitted a bill increasing the number of members of the Judicial Council of Russia by 14 persons, to the State Duma. The document has been published on the official database of the parliament’s lower house.

In total, there would be 147 judges in the Council.

Amendments are connected with the creation of courts of appeals and cassation which are expected to begin their work on October 1, the Supreme Court states.

In particular,under the bill, there would be 7 representatives of cassation courts, 2 representatives of appeals courts, one representative of military cassation courts and one – of military appeals courts in the Council of Judges.
