MOSCOW, September 22 (RAPSI) – The State Duma on Friday rejected a bill depriving people sentenced for terrorism of insurance pension.

The bill extends not only to people convicted of terrorist activities in Russia but to their relatives.

Therefore, terrorists would not receive disability pension, and members of their families would be debarred from pension for loss of breadwinner (survivors’ pension), an explanatory to the bill reads.

According to the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veteran Affairs, the proposed initiative unreasonably restricts citizens’ right to social benefits including right to a pension.
