MOSCOW, July 25 (RAPSI) – A court in Serpukhov, a town in the Moscow region, on Monday sentenced Vladislav Struzhenko, who was found guilty of carrying out the blast on the territory of a local convent, to 13 years in a high-security penal colony, RAPSI was told in the court’s press service.

Additionally, the defendant was fined 205,000 rubles (over $3,500).

Prosecutors earlier demanded 14 years in jail for him.

The court found that in late 2021, Struzhenkov attempted to commit suicide by blowing himself up hear an educational facility located in the convent. He was seriously injured and lost one leg. Ten other persons were also injured during the blast. He was charged with attempted murder and illegal trafficking in explosives.
