MOSCOW, July 14 (RAPSI) – Moscow’s Basmanny District Court has placed municipal lawmaker Ilya Yashin in a case over fakes about Russian army in detention until September 12, RAPSI has learnt in the court’s press service.

Yashin is accused of the distribution of knowingly false information on the actions of Russia’s armed forces. He could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

The case was opened after Yashin’s speech on his YouTube channel concerning the murder of civilians in Bucha, a town in Ukraine. Russian authorities believe it was the Kiev regime’s falsification.

Yashin pleads not guilty.
