MOSCOW, July 13 (RAPSI) – Embezzlement charges have been brought against a former deputy governor of the Tomsk region Yury Gurdin, the Investigative Committee’s press service reports.

He has been put in detention, according to the statement.

Investigators claim that from August 2020 to November 2021 the accused organized and led the commitment of embezzlement by a head of one of the regional foundations of at least 70 million rubles ($1.2 million) allocated from the local budget as part of the national educational project.

The second defendant has been also charged with embezzlement.
