MOSCOW, June 17 (RAPSI) – Moscow’s Meshchansky District Court has replaced 1.5-year restriction of liberty imposed on Kira Yarmysh, the spokesperson of a foundation founded by Alexey Navalny, for breaching sanitary norms at an illegal rally held in January 2021 with a real prison term, the court’s press service has told RAPSI.

Moscow’s Preobrazhensky District Court on Monday convicted Yarmysh last August. She was banned from changing her permanent place of living without notifying authorized bodies, attending mass events and participating in them, leaving Moscow and Moscow Region without permission.

According to the Interior Ministry, coronavirus-positive persons ordered to isolation were identified among the rally participants in central Moscow on January 23, 2021. A criminal case over violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules was opened over this fact.
