MOSCOW, June 7 (RAPSI) – Journalist and blogger Yury Dud has filed an administrative lawsuit against Russia’s Justice Ministry challenging a mass media-foreign agent label, according to the case file of Moscow’s Lefortovsky District Court.
Discussion of the lawsuit is set for June 16.
Prominent Russian YouTube blogger was added to the list of mass media acting as foreign agents in April.
In October 2021, Moscow's Zyuzinsky District Court fined Dud 100,000 rubles (over $1,600 at the current exchange rate) in a drug propaganda case. The administrative offense protocol regarding him was drawn up in accordance with the provisions of the Russian Administrative Code envisaging a fine of up to 1.5 million rubles (about $25,000).
This court has already considered a similar case over illegal propaganda or advertising of drugs: last June, it fined rapper Alisher Morgenstern for this offense 100,000 rubles.
