MOSCOW, April 14 (RAPSI) – The Justice Ministry will delegate its authority to represent interests of the Russian Federation in international and foreign courts to the Prosecutor General’s Office, according to Russia’s Justice Minister Konstantin Chuichenko.

This year Russian authorities took a decision on the transfer of these Ministry’s powers to prosecutors, Chuichenko said during the extended meeting of the Justice Ministry’s collegium on Wednesday. The Justice Ministry would do all for the process went promptly without delays, he added.

In early 2021, the European Court of Human Rights delivered several rulings in favor of Russia in high-profile inter-State cases, the Minister reminded. In particular, ECHR declared Georgia’s accusations against Russia concerning events in South Ossetia and Abkhazia in August 2008 unfounded and found several Ukraine’s accusations against Russia over Crimea unproved, he stated.
