MOSCOW, February 18 (RAPSI) – The Moscow City Court on Thursday upheld an order to place of Oleg Navalny, the brother of Alexey Navalny, under house arrest until March 23, RAPSI learnt in the court’s press service.

He stands charged with breaching sanitary and epidemiological rules.

Earlier, several opposition activists including Lyubov Sobol, Oleg Stepanov, Anastasia Vasilyeva, Pussy Riot member Maria Alyokhina and Oleg Navalny were put under house arrest on the same allegations after illegal rallies held in Moscow.

According to the Interior Ministry, coronavirus-positive persons ordered to isolation were identified among the rally participants. A criminal case over violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules was opened over this fact.
