MOSCOW, July 22 (RAPSI) – A 41-year Moscow attorney Alexander Barinov has received a 3-year suspended sentence in a case over embezzlement of more than 1.3 million rubles ($18,000), according to a statement of the Moscow Prosecutor’s Office.

Moreover, Moscow’s Meshchansky District Court has given a 2-year suspended term to the lawyer’s 83-year accomplice Emilia Bondareva.

According to the statement, between March 2014 and January 2016, Moscow lawyer Barinov acting as an insolvency practitioner of a commercial organization committed embezzlement of the company’s property worth over 1.3 million rubles by signing a sham IT service contract  with a firm of Bondareva.

The woman ordered by Barinov opened a bank account on her name and received a banking card as part of the sham contract; later she gave the card to the lawyer  allowing him to commit embezzlement and spend money of his own choosing, Moscow prosecutors stated.
