ST. PETERSBURG, August 13 (RAPSI, Mikhail Telekhov) – A driver, who had been repeatedly caught for drunk driving, was sentenced to 8 months in a high-security penal colony, the St. Petersburg prosecutor’s office told RAPSI on Tuesday.

Demna Kotua was convicted of committing a road traffic offense by a person underlying an administrative punishment.

In addition to the prison term he was banned from driving for 3 years.

According to case papers, in February 2017, a magistrate court brought the man to administrative liability for refusal to undergo a medical check-up. In April 2019, he was again stopped by road traffic policemen for drunken driving. He repeatedly refused to undergo a medical check-up, prosecutors said.
