MOSCOW, June 27 (RAPSI) – Investigation into a criminal case against four police officers charged with the 14-million-ruble amber theft (over $200,000) has been completed, the press service of Russia’s Investigative Committee reports.

The case will be soon forwarded to court for hearing.

According to investigators, in July 2017, a former deputy chief of police anti-corruption police directorate’s department for fighting against natural resources management crimes for the Kaliningrad Region and three other officers committed amber theft from a shop in Kaliningrad under the guise of searches as part of a criminal case opened earlier. The total value of the stolen amber and amber goods exceeded 14 million rubles.

The defendants pleaded not guilty, the statement reads.
