MOSCOW, September 27 (RAPSI) – The Intellectual Property Court (IP court) has ordered Russia’s patent agency Rospatent to once more review an application filed by Tupolev aircraft company, seeking to recognize “Tupolev” name as a commonly known trademark, the court documents read.

The court overturned the January 29 decision of Rospatent, which stated that documents provided by Tupolev did not contain information on intensive use of “Tupolev” name during marking of aircraft.

Back then, Rospatent noted that from all photos provided by the company, only three planes have “Tupolev” marking and there is no way to tell how many planes with that marking were produced and utilized by the applicant.
