MOSCOW, August 29 (RAPSI) – The Leninsky District Court of Orenburg has transferred deputy head of the construction department for the city of Orenburg in Southern Russia Gennady Borisov, charged with receiving a 2-million-ruble bribe ($30,200), under house arrest, the press-service of the court has told RAPSI.

Borisov is charged with receiving a large-scale bribe in the monetary form for providing assistance. The defendant admitted wrongdoing and signed a pre-trial plea. He is to stay under house arrest until October 8.

According to the law enforcement, on August 8, the official received 2 million rubles from the CEO of a commercial organization, who sought help with construction and sale of real estate in Orenburg. Borisov was apprehended soon afterwards.
