MOSCOW, February 20 (RAPSI, Nikita Shiryayev) – The number of cases over termination of parental rights has decreased by 10% over the past 3 years, according to the Russian Supreme Court’s Chairman Vyacheslav Lebedev.

In 2017, courts considered 48,000 cases concerning deprivation of parent’s rights, Lebedev said during the alignment meeting of court chairmen on Tuesday.

In total, courts of general jurisdiction heard about 14.8 million civil cases, the Supreme Court’s Chairman added.

Speaking of divorce disputes, Lebedev noted that currently there are suggestions about delegation of power to consider these cases from courts to registry offices if spouses came to an agreement for their children’s living and division of property.
