MOSCOW, January 24 (RAPSI) – Two alleged accomplices of a student of the 9th grade, charged with attacking children and a teacher in a school in Russia’s Buryatia Republic, have been arrested, the Investigative Committee’s press service reports Wednesday.

According to investigators, on January 19, the defendant entered the school premises and attacked pupils of the 7th grade; after that he set fire in a classroom with a bottle containing flammable liquid. Three children and a teacher were injured during the attack. The alleged perpetrator has been charged with attempted murder of more than two children.  The Oktyabrsky District Court of Ulan-Ude has detained the student until March 19.

Investigators believe that hatred of teachers and conflicts of the accused with other students triggered the crime.

After interrogation of the defendant, victims and witnesses, it was found out that the student committed the crime in conspiracy with his two schoolmates aged 15 and 14. Alleged accomplices helped the accused in preparing a cocktail bomb and scanned the horizon in order to warn him of risk of detection of their criminal intent, the Investigative Committee stated.

Charges have been already brought against two alleged accomplices of the defendant.

This is the second incident where Russian schools were attacked this month. On January 15, a student in the 10th grade and a former pupil of the same school intentionally caused multiple stab wounds to nine 4th graders and their teacher. The victims were hospitalized. The alleged attackers have been charged with attempted murder of more than two children collusively committed by a group of persons.
