MOSCOW, May 15 (RAPSI) - The Ninth Commercial Court of Appeals upheld the fine imposed on “Burger Rus” company which is a subsidiary of one of the largest worldwide fast food chains, Burger King, for the above limit amount of microorganisms in company’s sandwiches, the court told RAPSI on Thursday.

The Moscow Commercial Court fined “Burger Rus” on March, 17. Appeal reached the court on March, 27.

According to the court materials, Rospotrebnadzor has organized a snap check of the Burger King’s restaurant in Sheremetyevo airport. Snap check showed that there is above limit amount of several different kinds of microorganisms in the food.

The Burger King, American company founded back in 1954, specializes on sandwich production. There are more than 13 000 restaurants of the chain worldwide, making Burger  King the second largest worldwide fast food chain. Company’s franchise has entered Russian market in 2010. In 2012 Burger King Russia company has been founded with “VTB Capital”, “Burger Rus” and “Burger King Worldwide as its shareholders.
