MOSCOW, June 21 – RAPSI. Russian judiciary welcomes amendments to current laws implementing electronic records management in courts, Judges Council meeting participants report.

Under current law, it is only possible to file paperwork in common law courts in hard copies. Meanwhile, commercial courts have been accepting lawsuits, evidence and applications in the electronic form for more than a year.

The participants said e-records will facilitate criminal proceedings and reduce the time required for judges to consider cases.

However, it is still unknown when the amendments will be adopted.
