MOSCOW, June 19 - RAPSI. The Ninth Commercial Court of Appeals dismissed on Tuesday the Rusal Sayanogorsk Aluminium Smelter’s lawsuit to collect from RusHydro $792,500 in damages inflicted by the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydropower plant accident.

The accident took place on August 17, 2009, when Turbine 2 broke apart and the turbine hall and engine room were flooded.

The accident resulted in a power outage at the Sayanogorsk and Khakassky aluminum smelters, which inflicted major losses on the plants.
The Sayanogorsk smelter sustained a 25 million ruble ($843,570) loss. The smelters sued RusHydro for damages.

The lawsuits have already made two rounds,  the dispute was earlier remanded for reconsideration.

RusHydro is Russia's largest power generating company comprising 60 renewable energy plants, including the Sayano-Shushenskaya plant, which is under repair.
