MOSCOW, April 6 - RAPSI. Russia's richest businessman Alisher Usmanov has filed an application with the court seeking the ownership of non-residential premises in central Moscow, Dari Lyakh, the Moscow Khamovnichesky District Court's spokeswoman, told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.ru) on Friday.

Usmanov is the richest man in Russia, with a fortune estimated at $18.1 billion.

"Alisher Usmanov filed a lawsuit against a housing management office. The third parties in the case are Moscow's central district prefecture and the State Register. In his lawsuit, Usmanov claims the ownership of non-residential premises in the center of Moscow," the spokeswoman said.

She added that the hearing has been scheduled for April 19.

Usmanov is the general director of Gazprominvestholding. He also holds a 50 percent stake in the Metalloinvest Holding, composed of Lebedinsky GOK and Mikhalovsky GOK with an annual output of iron-ore concentrate amounting to 40 million tonnes. Usmanov also controls Ural Steel, the Oskol electro-metallurgical plant (with an annual output of 6.4 million tonnes), and the Hamriyah Steel plant in the UAE (produces 1 million tonnes of steel per year).

Usmanov is also a shareholder in London's Arsenal Football Club, in which he owns a 29 percent stake together with his business partner Farhad Moshiri.
