MOSCOW, March 22 - RAPSI. The CP Digital film distributor has filed an appeal against the Moscow Commercial Court's decision to recover from the company $2.37 million for Central Partnership Sales House.

The lawsuit is centered on 12 contracts signed by Central Partnership Sales House and CP Digital between 2007 and 2011 on the distribution of Central Partnership's films.

According to the plaintiff, the defendant did not pay in full under the contracts. Central Partnership Sales House seeks to recover 51.3 million rubles ($1.75 million) in debt and penalties.

The Moscow Commercial Court fully satisfied the lawsuit.

CP Digital disagrees with the debt amount as some of the rights specified in the contracts had been assigned to the defendant and the statute of limitations had expired regarding a number of the contracts. Moreover, CP Digital disagrees with the penalty amount.

Central Partnership is Russia's largest motion picture and television product distributor and creator. It earned 294.8 million rubles ($10.1 million) from film distribution in 2011.
CP Digital was established in 2000. It is a leader on the Russian DVD market.
