MOSCOW, January 10 - RAPSI. The Supreme Commercial Court has registered Sberbank's application to revise a lower-court decision annulling the resolution of a creditors meeting to file for Istok's bankruptcy.

Istok is a leading Russian distillery.

Earlier, the North Ossetia Republic Commercial Court held against the Distillery De La Tour's application to invalidate the meeting's results on September 21.
However, the Sixteenth Appeals Court overruled the judgment on November 30.

The court emphasized that the Distillery De La Tour is based in France, but was not duly notified of the creditors meeting.

The extraordinary meeting of Istok shareholders resolved to divide the company on September 17, 2010.

The North Ossetia Republic Commercial Court accepted the Federal Tax Service's application to declare Istok bankrupt on August 27, 2009.

Istok failed to raise sufficient funds to implement its plan in 2008. It was forced to suspend its production in 2009 and dismiss about 2,000 workers.
