CHELYABINSK, December 30 - RAPSI. The Chelyabinsk Regional Prosecutor's Office dismissed the investigative authorities' decision to suspend the investigation into the $2.86 million embezzlement at Stankomash due to the absence of suspects, the Prosecutor's Office website reported on Friday.

In January the Department of the General Prosecutor's Office in the Ural Federal District reported that investigators initiated a criminal case against Stankomash former heads on financial fraud charges.

According to the prosecutor's office, former Stankomash top managers plotted a fraudulent supply contract which resulted in a 90 million rubles (2.8 million) loss to a South Ural enterprise.

Earlier the General Prosecutor's Office received a complaint on the Chelyabinsk Region law enforcement authorities due to their omission to investigate the multimillion damage to the state-run enterprise The defense enterprise, Stankomash, started operating in 1935. It produces mine clearing devices, target complexes, air missiles and shells for anti-aircraft systems and air forces. It also manufactures oil development and gas producing equipment. It employs over 2,000 people.
