MOSCOW, September 19 - RAPSI, Sergei Feklyunin. A court registered today a $1.25 million claim from the Russian Basketball Federation, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI).

The statement of claim was filed with the Moscow Commercial Court on September 16.

RAPSI has yet to learn the subject in dispute. However, Single Basketball League President Sergey Ivanov said in an interview earlier that 35 million rubles ($1.25 million) were lost during the previous federation president's tenure. According to Ivanov, Alexander Krasnenkov, the current president, promised to compensate for the debts before he entered his new role.

The parties to the dispute have declined to comment to RAPSI.

The Russian Basketball Federation conducts basketball competitions in Russia.

Krasnenkov was appointed to head the federation in late 2010.
