MOSCOW, September 25 (RAPSI) – The Federation Council has reelected Vyacheslav Lebedev as Chairman of the Supreme Court of Russia.

The head of the upper house’s Committee on Constitutional legislation and State building Andrey Klishas called the Supreme Court the most progressive, independent and professional court in the system of general jurisdiction courts and gave tremendous credit to Lebedev for this.

According to the senator, the court is regularly expanded by regional members. He also expressed hope that the renewal of the Court’s personnel would be continued.

Lebedev has been heading the Supreme Court of Russia since 1989.
