MOSCOW, August 27 (RAPSI) – The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has fined Samsung Russian subsidiary 2.5 million rubles (about $38,000) for unlawful coordination of prices of smartphones and tablets, the watchdog informs in a statement on Tuesday.

Earlier, FAS has found Samsung Electronics Rus Company guilty of unlawful coordination of economic activities of resellers trading in Samsung-made smartphones and tablets resulting in price collusion.

Employees of Samsung Electronics Rus Company directly controlling that resellers complied with the price arrangement were brought to administrative liability.

In the statement, FAS notes that in the course of investigation the company ceased to coordinate economic activities and cooperated with the antimonopoly watchdog. This fact was taken into account when the amount of the fine was calculated, the statement reads.
