MOSCOW, October 31 (RAPSI) – The use of biometric technologies identifying a person for migration purposes will be extended to ensure safety and provision of state services, the ordinance “On Concept of the state migration policy in Russia in 2019-2025” signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin reads.

The document lays out a plan for achievement of goals and actualization of main directives for migration in Russia. In particular, the ordinance improves the systems of prevention, finding and putting a stop to corruption and migration violations.

Earlier, Russian government reported that in 2017 local directorates of Russia’s Interior Ministry put a stop to over 136,000 migration violations by foreign citizens and persons without citizenship.

In July, Putin signed a law on administrative liability for officials and legal entities inviting immigrants and failing to supervise terms of their stay in Russia.
