MOSCOW, March 13 (RAPSI) – Russian law enforcement officers have arrested former principal of a Moscow school charged with embezzlement of over 28 million rubles (nearly $492,000) paid by pupils’ parents, the Investigative Committee has stated.

According to investigators, the defendant abused his position from January 2007 till June 2010. Allegedly he suggested to relatives of the first-grade pupils to transfer money for the school needs to a non-profit foundation. However, in truth money was transferred as payment for their children to join the school. Later, the money was embezzled from a foundation and transferred to the ex-principal’s bank accounts.

In 2011, law enforcement stopped unlawful activity of the school’s ex-head but he managed to escape and was put on the international wanted list.
