MOSCOW, March 6 (RAPSI) – Officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB) have revealed and stopped activity of a cell supporting the Islamic State terrorist organization prohibited in Russia, the FSB press-service reports.

Authorities launched a criminal case over contribution to terrorist activity as well as unlawful acquisition and possession of weapons and explosives.

According to FSB, an alleged cell organizer and his accomplices were arrested on March 5. Investigators believe that they recruited residents of the Republic of Dagestan to leave Russia and go to Syria. Allegedly four recruited persons underwent training by the Islamic State and joined its forces.
