MOSCOW, July 27 (RAPSI, Nikolay Merkulov) – The number of corruption-related crimes registered in Russia in the first six months of 2017 decreased by about 14 per cent, Prosecutor General Yury Chaika said addressing the Collegium of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office on Thursday.

According to Chaika, in the first half-year there were detected 18,400 corruption-related crimes, adding that it declined by 13.9 per cent as compared with the period from January through June 2016.

The most noticeable decrease in the number of such crimes was noted in the Siberian Federal District (24.7 per cent), whereas in the North Caucasus there was registered the maximal rise by 18.1 per cent.
