MOSCOW, January 30 (RAPSI) – Russia’s antimonopoly regulator announced on Monday that it is conducting an investigation into mobile operator MegaFon for raising roaming prices.

Rise of rates for some locations reached as high as 2200% compared to previous ones. According to FAS, rates for calls, SMS messaging and Internet in roaming have been raised since December 12.

The Service notes that other mobile phone operators, who have similar agreements with foreign partners, did not raise roaming rates.

The case against MegaFon will be reviewed on March 6.
