MOSCOW November 18 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) is conducting a large-scale inspection of a number of companies, including Lenovo and HP corporation on suspicion of cartel activity, RIA Novosti reported on Friday.

Overall, more than ten companies are being inspected.

On Thursday, the Service announced that it began inspection of Lenovo in relation to anti-cartel probe on government procurements of computers.

“Inspections at Lenovo are conducted on suspicion of participation of the company in a large cartel at government procurement of tech equipment, which is active in Russia for several years. Lenovo is obstructing the inspection,” a FAS representative told journalists.

“Inspections are to be conducted for more than a month,” RIA Novosti quoted its source as having said.

Lenovo Group Ltd. is a Chinese technology company operating internationally. It specializes in design, development, manufacture and sales of technical equipment and IT software.
