ST. PETERSBURG, July 29 (RAPSI, Mikhail Telekhov) – Prosecutors in Moscow have repressed nearly 7,800 violations of minors’ rights in the first six months of 2016, RAPSI learned from the Moscow Prosecutor’s Office on Friday.

The main objective regarding this issue is to provide social and legal protection of children living in the Russia’s capital, the prosecution’s website reads.

Among revealed violations were failures to provide disabled children with assistive devices (wheelchairs), which are guaranteed by Russian legislation.

Overall, prosecutors have launched 25 criminal cases in regard to violation of minors’ rights. 1768 officials were found guilty of either disciplinary or administrative violations.

The number of crimes against minors has dropped by 47.3%, according to prosecutors.
