MOSCOW, May 19 (RAPSI, Diana Gutsul) – Russian investigative authorities managed to establish the identity of a person suspected of taking hostages in a Moscow bank outlet, the press service of the Russia’s Investigative Committee told RAPSI on Thursday.

The previous night law enforcers received a report that an unidentified man had taken six hostages in an outlet of a Moscow bank. According to preliminary information, the hostage taker had on him an object looking like an explosive device. Because of a clear and present threat to lives and health of hostages, detectives of the Moscow Chief Directorate of the Interior Ministry shot the suspect down in the course of a special operation.

“At present the person suspected of perpetrating this crime is identified. It is Alexey Ukhin, a Moscow region resident born in 1987. Investigators regard financial motives as the primary lead,” – the Interior Ministry reports.

The respective criminal case has been initiated under articles of the Russia’s Criminal Code on hostage taking involving weapons or objects used as weapons.
