MOSCOW, September 10 (RAPSI) - Google is investigating the alleged theft of almost five million logins and passwords to Gmail accounts, the company’s press service told RIA Novosti.

Yesterday, it was reported that a database of logins and passwords to 4.9 million Gmail accounts was published in open access online. Particularly, the report was posted on the Bitcoin Security forum.

This is the third scandal of its kind over the past week following a report of 4.5 million compromised Mail.ru accounts and over 1 million Yandex mailboxes.

According to the Google press service, the company is constantly working on higher security to protect the accounts of their users. The company’s experts are currently investigating the incident.
