MINSK, April 15 - RAPSI, Alexei Bukchin. A staff member of Belarusian music TV channel BelMuzTV has been detained on suspicion of broadcasting a pornographic video, a source in the Belarusian law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti on Monday.

Initially, viewers on Saturday were surprised when BelMuzTV started playing several Lyapis Trubetskoy music videos, a band whose songs are unofficially banned on Belarusian TV for their criticism of the authorities and President Alexander Lukashenko. Shortly after, the channel began airing explicit content which continued for at least 10 minutes.

"The suspect, born in 1985, has been detained in Mogilev and delivered to Minsk. He is being interrogated," the source said.

The investigators have established that at around 4 p.m. (5 p.m. MSK) on Saturday the suspect, who was at his workplace, "aired a pornographic video for around 10 minutes, after which he disappeared."

On Sunday, the Minsk department of the Belarusian Investigative Committee opened a case against the BelMuzTV employee on suspicion of "broadcasting pornographic videos on a public telecommunication network."

If found guilty, he may face two to four years in prison.
