MOSCOW, October 29 - RAPSI. Russia hopes the United States will promptly report all cases when adopted Russian children are abused after the bilateral child adoption agreement comes into effect, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Monday.

The agreement will come into effect on November 1.

"Another important issue arising from the U.S. obligations under the agreement is that employees of the Russian consulate will have the ability to visit these minors at their foster homes without any obstacles," the deputy foreign minister said.

Moscow and Washington will also jointly define the list of officially accredited adoption agencies.

Ryabkov added that the number of Russian children adopted by U.S. foster parents is dropping based on his data.
